This small village is on the western tip of Manitoulin Island, about 133 km west of Little Current.
This town was named after a town in Scotland, and has one of the finest harbours on the Island. It was once a busy fishing port,
home to much of the Lake Huron fishing fleet, and stopping pint for many Great Lakes steamers.
The town has a large quarry nearby for LaFarge Canada for concrete and road construction.
The town itself is now focused on the tourism trade.

Mississagi Lighthouse Museum
11 km west of Meldrum
This 19th century lighthouse overlooks the treacherous Mississagi Strait, where it is though
LaSalle’s Griffon was sunk in 1670. The lighthouse is now a museum and contains displays
about the life of a lighthousekeeper and many relics of local shipwrecks.
Open daily from Victoria Day weekend to September.
Net Shed Museum
This museum contains artifacts from the pioneer residents of the area.
The building used to be used by commercial fishermen to repair their nets.
Open daily from late June to Labour Day.
