A.Y. Jackson Lookout 45 km northwest of Sudbury on Highway 144, just 3 km north of Dowling 855-5018 This site overlooks High Falls, a waterfall on the Onaping River that drops 150 feet into the Sudbury Basin. Jackson, one of Canada’s famed Group of Seven painters that painted the rugged north, had painted this stunning waterfall. Anderson Farm Museum on Regional Road 24, 1 km north of Regional Road 55 Just south of Lively, about 15 km southwest of Sudbury The Anderson family came to the Sudbury area from Finland in the early 1900s. The Museum consists of a carefully restored dairy farm, and includes horse-drawn machinery and a windmill power generator. Art Gallery of Sudbury 251 John St (at Nelson St) Sudbury 705-675-4871 This gallery is housed in the mansion of lumber magnate William J Bell and exhibits both historical and contemporary Canadian art.

This 1700 sq. metre (18,000 sq. ft) earth sciences centre combines both above and below ground visitor experiences. Centre Franco-Ontarien de Folklore 38 Xavier St, Sudbury 705-675-8986 This centre displays historic articles, books and traditional songs portraying Franco-Ontarian culture since early French settlement in the province. Displays include household implements, musical instruments, and tools. Copper Cliff Museum Balsam & Power Street, Copper Cliff 705-674-3141 ext 2460 This museum is in a pioneer log cabin from the early 1900s, and is furnished as it would have been by early Copper Cliff settlers. Open early June through August 11 am to 4 pm, Tuesday to Sunday. Cortina Boat Cruise Lake Ramsey, at Science North 705-523-4629 Toll Free: 1-800-461-4898 (Science North) This 70 passenger boat offers one hour tours of Lake Ramsey during the summer months. The boat is fully enclosed with a licensed snack bar, and has a comfort station on board.
Flour Mill Heritage MuseumSt Charles St, off Notre Dame Ave, Sudbury 750-673-3141 ext 2460 This museum is in a 1903 clapboard house once owned by the Manitoba and Ontario Flour Mill Company, for housing the company’s foreman. Exhibits include antique furniture, early hand tools and weapons, as well as farm implements. La Galierie du Nouvel-Ontario 174 Elgin St 705-525-5606 This museum showcases contemporary and explorative art by francophone and Canadian artists. Laurentian University Ramsey Lake Rd at South Bay Rd 705-675-1151 ext 3100 Tours are offered of the campus, the arboretum, and the planetarium. Evening sky tours of the Doran Planetarium provide insights into modern astronomy. Please call a week in advance for tours. Notres Dames de Lourdes Lourdes Street, Sudbury 705-522-2273 This shrine was founded in 1907 by Frediric Romanet as a tribute to Our Lady of Lourdes for helping his wife recover from an illness. The grotto is 20 feet high and 10 feet wide, halfway up a hill overlooking Elgin Street and Lake Ramsey. Northern Ontario Railroad and Heritage Centre 26 Bloor St, Capreol (40 km north of Sudbury) 750-858-5050 This museum displays the history of railroading, mining, forestry and early settlement in the Capreol area.. Displays include the first steam train used in the North, and historic railroad equipment. Rainbow Hatchery 475 Guenette Drive, Valley East 705-969-3474 This fish hatchery is used to raise fish to stock the area’s lakes and rivers.Tour the year-round controlled environment.
